Today, bra or brassiere, has evolved from a simple lady's undergarment into an actual sexual wear that emphasizes a woman's sexual essence, including her style and comfort. Bras are today an important wardrobe essentials for women. Women wear bras for support, for improving breasts' shapes and size, for enhancing cleavage, and to restrain breast movement during activities like exercises, aerobics, jogging etc. Designers have come up with beautiful designs of lingerie bras which are functional and aesthetically pleasing.
There are different designs of bras like strapless, seamless, demi etc. Almost all bras can be found in almost any sizes in the market today. Manufacturers do this because there is the demand. But it should be noted that just because a bra style is available in your size, it will not necessarily give you the perfect fit and serve the purpose. A bra that feels perfect may not be giving you proper support unless and until you know how to choose the right fit and size for your bra.
To find bras that fit well and it is important to know your bra size. You can find yourself the right bra size by following the following steps.
Step 1: Measure Bra Band Size Take a measuring tape. Measure around your bra directly under your bust. For this, you also have to expel all air from your lungs so that you get the measurement as small as possible. Now round all fractional measurements to the nearest whole number. That is if your measurement is 28 3/8", round to 28". If your measurement is 28 1/2" or more, round to 29". Bras are available in even band sizes only. Hence if rounded measurement is odd, add 5" and if rounded measurement is even, add 4". The result gives your band size.
Step 2: Measure Bra Cup Size: Stand straight, with your arms at your side. Now take the measuring tape and measure at the fullest part of your bust. Don't wear a padded bra. If your bra does not fit you well, you can also take measurement without wearing a bra. Wrap the tape measure around you so that it is just touching, but not binding. Round all fractional measurements to the nearest whole number as you did to find your band size.
Step 3: Calculate Bra Cup Size: Subtract Step 2 â€" Step 1. That is subtract your band measurement from your cup measurement. The difference is your cup size. For example, 38" - 34" (band size) = 4". That is D is your cup size.
Now that you know your band size and cup size, you can easily find out your bra size. Step 1: Your band measurement, for example, is 38" Step 2: You cup measurement is 40" Step 3: 40" - 38" = 2 or Cup "B". Your size would be 38B
